Lady Wolfpack 2018-2019 Season

As the 2017-2018 season begins the final turn, the Hartford Junior Lady Wolfpack teams continue to experience significant success on and off the ice.  During the last week, our U19 team was responsible for placing its sixth player into college hockey for next season!  A significant achievement and in three short years, the Lady Wolfpack has placed 31 players into the college hockey ranks.

As our U19 team prepares for both Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) and Connecticut Girls Hockey League (CGHL) playoffs, our U14 team continues their playoff march at the Tier 1 U14 level of CHC and our U13 team, after winning the Tier 1 U12 State Title last season, begins the Tier 2 U14 CHC State Tournament this weekend. The U12 Lady Wolfpack begin their Tier 1 CHC state tournament this weekend and looks to cap an incredibly successful season.  In addition to the successes realized within the CHC and CGHL, all of our Lady Wolfpack teams have had very successful seasons within the New England Girls Hockey League (NEGHL), the premier Girls Hockey League in the country.

Expanding on the Lady Wolfpack success both on and off the ice, the Lady Wolfpack is pleased to announce that for the 2018-2019 season we will be rostering the following teams:

U14 - Potentially two teams at this level
U16 - Full Season
U19 - Full Season
U16/U19 - Split Season

All of our Lady Wolfpack teams will be placed within CHC, NEGHL, and the CGHL, if applicable.  For our full season Lady Wolfpack U16 and U19 teams, those teams will have two practices and two games each week until Thanksgiving. Thereafter, each team will have one practice and a Sunday game slot for the remainder of the season. Our combined U16/U19 Split Season team will have two practices and two games each week and end their season at Thanksgiving.  It is the goal to provide as many U16 and U19 players with the opportunity to develop their hockey skills and potential to continue their education through hockey, by providing opportunities which will fit their hockey and educational needs and schedules.

Lady Wolfpack's Rebecca Taylor commits to Nichols College

HJWPY - Lady Wolfpack: Rebecca Taylor (Senior, Defense, A) commits to Nichols College for fall of 2018

Rebecca Taylor, two-year veteran defenseman and assistant captain for the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, has officially committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Nichols College starting in fall of 2018. Becca’s commitment marks the first of the 2017-2018 season, and the 23rd in program history. Becca has brought a consistently positive attitude, exceptional work ethic, and a strong sense of leadership to the team. Joining the squad in 2016, Becca has been an anchor for the pack on defense, and has been a role model both on and off the ice. She commented that she is “so thankful for the Wolfpack and everything is has done for me. My coaches have helped me so much from the minute I started playing for the pack and this team has brought me to my goal of playing college hockey. The Wolfpack has made me both a better hockey player and a better leader and has prepared me for college hockey and the future.” Becca has worked tremendously hard towards her achievement of playing college hockey, and we wish her continued success as Nichols!
